I went to change my front wheel on my bmw 525i sport and noticed my sump guard has gone. :-?
The sump guard is massive, i think i would know if it fell off. :y
It was there last month, where has it gone, would the MOT man took it off, he's the only person who has touched my car. :-?
Where has it gone? :-?
-
Has it been Nicked?
Is the car parked outside at night?
-
on my drive but the drive is like a hill and rises in the middle so you couldnt get under it(cars low enough) and also it is gravled so i would have herd it :-/
Why would anyone want my sump guard? ;D :y

nothing is safe these days. look on the bright side, at least it should be faster now with the loss of weight

have you spoken to the garage about it. could of been removed foe access and forgotten to be replaced. you know how it is, 1 man removes it to do a job. does job, goes for dinner. comes back, car down and off ramps because some body else needed ramps. sump gaurd lays in corner forgotten about. :( :( :(
worth a try but they'll prob deny all knowledge. good luck

I lost a wheel centre cap - 4 months later I went to have two tyres fitted and I picked up my centre cap at the same time!!!!

MOT testers are not required to dismantle anything - in fact, they are not allowed to - and anyway have no interest in doing so...
So I think one of them massive road bumps got it...?

Stick a camera on your drive that is PIR activated, and just let people know you have had a new gaurd fitted, you might get a mug shot of the 2nd attempt, even though you havnt replaced the sump guard. :) :y

Also you can get a little alarm that you could fit in the garden (hidden) they are wireless, then a unit plugs in to a socket it the house, you then get a chime or a bing bong noise if someone passes the beam.
My mate has one, when he is working in the shed and his wife comes onto the drive he goes in and puts the kettle on to make her a drink.
She thinks he's wonderfull for being so thoughtfull, he is just smart, allwys works in his favour. if she's snappy with him. He turns it off and she makes the tea....she doesnt stay snappy for long. ;D ;D

Was it noticed before or after the water pump being changed? Easy to take them off but a pain to put back on when working on the floor on your own! Just a thought! :-?
