Title: Sigh - shall I break it?
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 05 July 2008, 13:22:56
Despite advertising the 2.0CDX with poorly engine for £100 surprisingly there's no interest.

I'm reluctant to scrap it for nothing, but - do you reckon there are enough usable parts on a CDX to warrant breaking it?

It would have to be a VERY quick job, I would literally do one day stripping and one day posting.

Note this isn't an ad - just seeing if anyone think's it's viable to break a CDX...

Is it not worth putting a reclaimed engine into it if generally it is still a  very useable car?

If it still had a long MOT, and some scum hadn't key'd it all down the one side, then probably would..  :'(

Well, they pay at the scrap for a full car around £100 (not sure how much exactly) and £25 for a shell. Think what you could sell of it, ei.tyres, headlights, mirrors (colourcoded?) or switches and it may come up to quite a few pennies?
