Key became detached from flip key base on Insignia remote. My wife went to VX thinking it was an easy job - no - we need car for 45 minutes and it is a new key and will be £130.
Needless to say did not proceed and cross checked with another dealer - same response.
Looked on youtube at set up and it is just a roll in that is required.
Have sent message to Martin Imber but this may not be up his street. Any ideas on roll pin size and quality needed please.

IIRC they are the same as the key fobs that can be converted from normal keys to the Vx flip key, and the roll pin is 1mm...
You will need to take the keyfob apart and retension the spring when you put the key back together...
-
Thank you - I will be able to get pin in without opening case so don't think tension will be an issue
-
If its like the VW ones you will have to dismantle it as the spring needs to be tensioned back a turn before latching onto the blade.

Fella at Timpsons cut me a new blade and fitted a new pin when mine snapped. £12.50.

Drew a blank at jewellers so Timpsons tomorrow. Now found a crack in silver base that swivels so additional issue to solve.

Have a look on eBay you can buy the non genuine flip keys and use the bits to repair your original and for less than £10 you can't go wrong really

Still have to get a blade cut.

He already has the blade just knock the pin out and swap the blades over and the internal electronics
