Title: weather in cornwall ?
Post by: paul.77 on 04 July 2008, 22:25:29
Off on holiday to Cornwall :y ;D ;D :y.
Going camping near St Ives and the forcasts never seem to be very accurate.
Just wondering what the weather is like down there?

It's absolutely hammering it down!!! If your coming this weekend, don't plan on going on any boat trips. Force 9 gales forecast tonight.  :-[

 :'( :'(

I've heard that the Norfolk Broads is nice at this time of year.  ;D

I hope it turns out nice for you. As I'm sure you know, the weather in Cornwall changes so quickly. As they say, if it's raining on the south coast just nip to the north coast and vice versa. Although that's a bit difficult at three in the morning when your tent has collapsed.  ;)

Great Pastie bakery and shop there, where when on business in Penzance, I used to bulk buy them for my freezer, but always gobbled one hot whilst sitting in the car :y :y :y.  Happy days! :D :D :D ;)

Anns Pastie Shop at the Lizard is normally good, though the last I had from there was awful :(

Update.

Still hammering down here. We're expecting another inch of rain today. If you're pitching a tent tomorrow you may want to bring some extra heavy guy ropes. In fact, I'd also bring a caravan.  :(

The weather forecast for the whole of the South West, but especially poor Cornwall, is atrocious for this weekend!  Quite exceptional for this time of the year the weather men are saying! :'( :'(

I am surprised as they normally are good - my dad grew up about 2 or 3 doors away and knew here from school.

Anyway large pasties should be made with a dinner plate sized pastry circle and are nearly a foot long :y

Saturday 8pm.

I'm in Penzance (well, Sancreed more accurately, half-way between Penzance and St Just). It's not as wet now as it has been for most of the day. Hopefully the worst is over.
