Title: Power for sat nav and camera
Post by: Blue on 28 April 2015, 19:40:54
Hi all, have 1999 Vauxhall omega elite V6, my question is I want to connect a sat nav and camera to my car and I don't like cables all over the place. I know my car has a cigarette lighter but would prefer not to use that as cables again, is there anyway I can do this without having cables everywhere, your thoughts and suggestions please, thanks for your time!! :y

Connect to a fused power feed at the back of the fusebox under the steering wheel... Red for permanent live and black for switched :y

I hard wired a twin socket in and ran the satnav cable to the corner of the A post and the phone one into the cubby under the headlight switch...

Get a couple of satnav mounts and it's easily swapped between cars :y

Hi, thanks for reply, when you say a twin socket are we talking about cigarette lighter socket. Sorry I'm not good at car electrics. Thanks for your time appreciated!!  :y
