Title: Location of Parking Sensors Speaker
Post by: Okan ÖZKAN on 03 May 2015, 10:45:17
Hello ,

I have 2003 Opel Omega 2.6 . Although the parking sensors work fine , there is no beep sound and any signal in the car when I engage to reverse gear . I guess the speaker is broken . Is there anyone who know the location of speaker .

Saloon Parkpilot speaker is normally under the headlining near sunroof location.

....above passengers head.

If you follow the braded wire from the park pilot unit behind the spare wheel, you'll find it.

If you wanted not to disturb the headlining, you could snip the wire and instal another speaker near the boot. But I did this and the speaker is a bit quiet.

Pas side c pillar seat belt, cover and trim, and all that gubbins, then un clip the head lining. Or something like that. Might need to remove the rear seat bolster as well. It's been a while... :-\

Unplug the speaker wire from the the Park pilot loom, then cut off as far into the inner wing as you can. Use this to connect to a front door tweeter. Insulate joins and then reconnect speaker to the loom and test. If all well then place wrapped speaker in cavity above shock top mount :y

or get a new pp speaker from the dealer and place it as far forward as you can. Unplug old speaker wire and just plug the new one in.

I did this mod, but fitted my tweeter behind the panel to the left of passenger's footwell, easy to route the wire beneath the internal sill trim, drill a few holes and it sounds just like the original. :y

Sounds like a load of hassle. Just fit a towbar and use that as your parking sensor  ;)

Remove the spare wheel cover. Remove the spare wheel. Behind the upright panel you'll find the park pilot unit. Into which is plugged a pair of wires with a black nylon braided cover. That is the park pilot speaker cable(s). Two wires, I believe both are brown. Iirc.
