What's the bike and what's the problem?

Unusual for modern ones to "not quite run right". They usually do - or they completely don't.

A Thunderace, wants the carbs balancing I think :y

do you know if it was standing for a while before you bought it ?the fuel can go manky and block jets, makes them run rough as guts. :-/

Yes it had been standing for quiet some time, and we did clean out the carbs, fitted a new Exup cable and it runs far far better now :y
But going to have the carbs checked to make sure they are right :y :y

you could get a set of guages and balance them yourself, rather than pay someone to do it.mine need doing at the moment but i have a mate with the gauges so i will be going to see him very soon.

When you've got a Thunderace, you don't need a car.

Try local old fashion bike garage to set up initially.  Balancing carbs can be a pita.  I still use my mechanic to do the carbs when one drops out.

Possible worth some fuel additive to clear the jets first though.

gummed up carbs.....take a lot of stripping down and cleaning to get rid of the goo created by the petrol when its stood for some time.

There not hard to balance.......you can do it very accurately by ear (listening to the vnturi on each in turn to match the note)

You may be able to, what about us mere mortals ;D

On the old twin carb Acclaim I used to have (great engine, rubbish handling), I made up simply U tube gadget that I had seen somewhere...  ...guess similar could be done with quad carb?

Well it must have been dirt in the carb or the fact that they were not sitting properly, as it run fine after.. but I have just been a mates and balanced the carbs and "She" runs alot better now :y

Did wonder if it would be a trip over to yours though Mate ;D
