Title: 2.5 td automatic gearbox playing up!!!

hi,

a warm welcome to you all, this is my first post as l am a new member and l hope someone can help me :-\ my 2.5 td automatic is playing up in that it is very slow to move forward but after a few minutes it will drive but in low gears, and displaying " automatic gearbox" on mfd.

my question is would a oil & filter change be of any benefit? or should i put in a replacement box? l hear that for the 2.5 diesels you can put in a AR35 box in ( would this go in straight away or need modifying?)

any help would be greatly appreaciated :y

Assuming LED indicator lights on gearlever control panel are working as normal that would be the first port of call
