Has this happened before when cams are put in and mixed up? i.e. inlet and exh cams mixed up?

Cams are in the right place both on inlet, timing I spot on I've check and all the marking line up I took pictures before all cams were removed no dash lights on just no power what so ever, when the belt was put on the markings on it lined up to the markings on all pulleys

And a lesson to all, as I don't get the impression that 2.5v6 is exactly clueless about these things, so it's definitely worth being super-super careful for those of us that may be fiddling with the cams at some point. (ie me this summer!- gulp!)

Glad you're sorted.  :y

Are these installed into a 2.5....?

Get the 'long nose' conversion done to replace most of the torque thats lost....

How many G cams did you install... all 4 or just the 2 exhaust cams...?

They were replaced on a 2.5 v6, only replaced the inlet cams, by long nose you mean the manifold from a 3 litre?

No he means the longer penlium, but Ideally 3.0 manifold and the longer penlium / shorter throttle body hoses.

I meant that lol, is it a straight swop ie acc and cruise control cable no extensions requried due to the longer nose

Have you noticed any difference since you swapped the cams?

Ive got a set of 4 to do at some point this year when i get round to doing the cambelt so interested to know your findings.

 ;)

Yes basically it is...

The Plenums are a direct fit, as are the intake pipes and the injector rail and injectors etc... you will need the shorter intake ram pipes and no you dont need to extend any of the cables, some people change them for the longer cables off the 3 litre but really theres no need...

You could also change the lower splitter but really no benefit is to be gained by doing it except for the bragging rights...

I changed to all G cams on mine, and it made a huge difference TBH especially when the cams switch on....

Only thing I would want to do now is change the exhaust manifolds for the 2.6/3.2 manifolds...

Ok good review, one last question, I've seen some pics on google where the 3.0 have the fly by wire acc cable, can the throttle bodies from a 2.5 Plenums be bolted stright onto the 3.0 Plenums?

3.0 & 2.5 use a throttle cable, 3.2 & 2.6 use fly-by-wire Only other exception is the 3.0 Cadillac Catera apparently used a fly-by-wire throttle .... but you're not likely come across one in a local scrap yard  :y

Yes
But remember to swap the bracket that holds the throttle cable too  ;)
