Title: Car choice
Post by: nemo on 04 May 2015, 18:13:59
I am looking to buy a smallish car for the wife. Will only do local miles and will have a petrol engine with auto box. I have been looking at Mazda 3 and Peugeot 307 and wondered what you learned gentlemen thought of these or could suggest an alternative vehicle. Budget up to £3000. Cheers

I wouldnt touch anything French.

Look at Ford Fusions. Mummy bear got hers 3 years ago. Well made, well put together and only ever needed a front spring at the last MOT (which i did for her).

Cabins also a real nice place to be.

Sister in law has a Jazz it's like riding in a go kart. Wifey is used to the omega elite and now a Merc so is proving difficult to please. Also tried a Peugeot 206, an Astra and Mondeo none of which floated her boat. Haven't looked at the fusion or focus but might have to. Thanks for the input

I switched to Astra 1.6 se auto - doing 3 to 4000 miles a year - fuel consumption is not great around town 6 miles each way per day at 30 ish, but I like it , decent space and spec. I went for higher mileage petrol as a bit cheaper.
