Title: Insurance cheek
Post by: omegod on 08 May 2015, 11:06:05
Just been frigging about to get the car insured, nice quote from Churchill until I noticed it wasn't going to start till Monday, changed the date to today and it went up by £255  >:(  Rang up and apparently it's a high risk indiator that you may actually want to drive the car you actually just purchased  ::)

Now sorted with AXA and get a crappy meerkat, I really, really wanted a churchill dog though  :'(

Had much the same problem with the Post Office insurance, they were glad to insure me the first time for my Mondeo, but when the renewal quote arrived it was over £100 more.
Their reason was that the car was NEW to me,therefore I was more likely to have a accident in it,not being used to it,s handleing.
Told them,bye bye.

Just had an issue like that with the AA, they wanted £168 to renew the breakdown cover which was more than they charge a new member, called them and asked why and they offed to reduce it to £132 as I was a valued customer (yeh right).

So binned them and got the same cover from RAC for £132 plus £60 cashback via top cashback.....much more like it!

had same problem with AA....started with personal cover for £90 with £60 cash back via top cash back...renewal came through at £254....they did reduce it too £155 but as I only have one car the CMSA wanted £58 and AA should look after existing member a little better :y

Last week i was reading on the internet about rescue renewal,,,they state that the aa,,,rac,,,take the mick out of existing customers by increasing their prices each year..So we all should, like car insurance try new insurers  each renewal....so i did just that with breakdown cover and green flag gave me a great same like for like deal for £70 less than the rac....so it was worth doing...
