What do we lose, apart from repair to our car, by only insuring TPF&T? It hardly seems worth fully comp. if they are going to write it off with a dented bumper. But, apart from the 'Freebies' offered, is there anything important missing from fully comp? :-\

Have you actually found a company much cheaper?
When ever I have looked, since being 17, Fully comp has been cheaper!
Windscreen cover is the first very handy option that springs to mind, along with the driving other cars not owned by you feature which has helped me out a fair few times.

Ah yes, W/S cover, that is useful, and driving other cars as well. Thanks JB. :y

I didn't think TPF&T existed anymore. I've always been told, when renewing, that fully comp is cheaper. Something to do with if you want TPF&T, you're treated as a higher risk.

You need to check that .... it's not always part of the deal these days :-\

It is on most, although that is only third party.

But as said, not all. My daughter has fully comprehensive, but can't drive other cars ..... possibly due to being 26

Not all & I don't think age has owt to do with it. I seized a car yesterday off a chap in his 40's who thought he had cover for driving any other vehicle, he was fully comp but when I checked his policy it turned out he didn't have the entitlement.

Interesting comments here. As I have to renew the Elite this month, and am doing it all through a cashback site(with about £50 cashback ::)), I notice that most do offer TPF&T slightly cheaper, however I think I'll stick to a fully comp type with permit to drive other vehicles and ws cover included, even though the included 'courtesy car/breakdown cover/rub down with the Sporting Life' are not necessarily required. :y

Also worth pointing out that the driving other vehicles bit is only valid as stated on the policy if the other car is already Insured by a n other and not owned by you.
Again for info, big, big difference on cost for TPFT and FC on any Trade Policy. >:(
