Had to have day away from work to wait for gas fitter[landlords annual safety check]so when a knock at the door came I thought this was him.But no it was neighbour from next door but one,and she says "I'm sorry I've just driven into your car"What,oh marvellous!!!Went and had a look and as she'd been reversing up behind my car she'd come up against the towbar. As she was only going very slowly anyway there was no damage even to her back bumper[just a slight rub mark that'll easily polish out on hers],so I asked her if the parking sensors didn't work as if not she should take it back to dealer[it's only a month old]but she told me yes they do work it's just she doesn't understand what the beeps mean!!!!Explained all that to her,and what the dashboard display was telling her.Hopefully she'll take on board all this, but then she's a woman so I'm not banking on that!!!At least she was honest enough to call and admit it.

It's a woman thing. ;)

Oh God.
Yep, honesty it was nice of her to tell you.
Wow. What the beeps mean. That's left me staggered!
-
I think you're in there. :y
-
Dont think she is on her own there. If you look round at the cars parked the local supermarket, you will find more scuffs on vehicles with sensors than those without!
-
I reversed into a French tree .... ::) they beep that often that you tend to ignore them! ::)
-
I'd agree with that.My car doesn't have them, but I've driven many that have and the darn things get right on my nerves!
-
The truck has a camera and beeps and I still managed to back the tow ball into a wall :-[ :-[
-
I have them front and rear, the front ones are not necessary and are a right pain. You can switch them off but with every ign off/on, they turn back on again.

A surprising amount of standard kit.

Should have told her to buy a Mini, that way she wouldn't be able to find reverse. ::) ::) ::) ::)

I imagine the original owner negotiated a hefty discount due to the colour. ;) :)
Salesman 1......."How the f*ck are we going to shift that snot green Astra?, it's been clogging up the showroom for 18 months now"
Salesman 2......."70% discount and a full tank of petrol should shift it"
