Title: Cam locking kit for 3.2 V6 anyone got one?
Post by: berserkerboy on 14 May 2015, 09:00:55
Hi folks

Just wondering if anyone has the above that they would be willing to lend/hire me? Willing to arrange postage/courier and give deposit. Unless someone lives nearby in SA19 who would be willing to help!?

Don't know for sure when mine was last done. Just been quoted £397.20 inc for cambelt and tensioner by the stealers.

Have the DVD showing how to.

Is this kit any good?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sealey-VSE130-Petrol-Setting-Locking/dp/B000RO13NW

I could put it on ebay after use.

That will do, but you will have to improvise the short 30mm spanner for the adjusters. Sealey do a kit that comes with one that might be worth tracking down if you're buying new. VSE 133 I think.

Your better off buying this one if you can afford it http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/tools-workshop/locking-setting-tools/sealey-petrol-engine-setting-locking-kit-saab-vauxhall-opel-2-5-2-6-3-0-3-2-v6-belt-drive-vse130

Or if you prefer EBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-Saab-Vauxhall-Petrol-Car-Engine-Setting-Locking-Kit-Belt-Drive-VSE130-/311317097755?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item487bf1ed1b

It comes with the spanner for adjustment and the torque socket need in the kit.  :y

Crank pulley bolt size. :y

Allen key is 5mm for the tensioner, but it needs a grind off the back of the elbow on it, so the socket on the torque wrench needed to tighten the tensions nut correctly, fits on properly. Otherwise, the Allen key fouls slightly.
