Hi everyone,I hope someone can help.I seem to have an oil leak coming from under the car after just purchasing some ramps and investigating it looks like the oil pressure switch?? Its on the passenger side above the sump and appears to be black plastic with one torx screw and the wires are protected by a silver metal cover.There seems to be oil leaking out of here especially when warm.If this is right and i remove the torx screw is it just a cover so I wont get covered in oil?How to solve said problem?Many thanks Glenn Have taken photo but how to add mmmmm

Could have a failed seal... but the whole side of the block looks oily, which suggests a camcover leak :-\

A few items there that can result in an oil leak:
1) Oil filter housing - due to some mechanics over tightening the housing cap, the housing can be damaged or become loose where it mates to the block (following replacement of the filter)
2) The two pipes that connect to the block are the feed and return to the oil cooler, both have high pressure oil passing through them. If the oil cooler has been replaced and the person doing the work took the short cut of bending the pipes rather than disconnecting them from the block, they can be slightly loosened which result in an oil leak very similar to that shown
3) In theory you could get a leak from the crank sensor but, its a long shot! as the there is no oil pressure behind it and in fact the crank case will be at a slight vacuum, for me it would be far less than you have there, nothing more than a small dribble plus the sealing setup on the crank sensor is pretty bullet proof.

There is a bit of oil around but after cleaning and drying as best i could i started the engine and could see it weeping out of the sensor.I'll try it again tmr and if i'm as sure as i can be i'll remove the crank sensor,do i need to drain the oil first?Thanks

If you have an oil level that high, then it's been overfilled slightly ;D

See Mark's reply above .... more likely to be other things than the crank sensor seal ;)

Breathers blocked ? (Causing crank case pressure)
If the oil is visibly coming from the crank sensor seal then it can just be unbolted and the o ring replaced if you can find the right size. Or a bit of instant goo perhaps?
But as suggested, the oil above would be cam cover seals. Check plug wells for oil that can bugger the ignition system and cause a misfire. Another pointer to blocked crank case breathers perhaps...?

I got under the car today and I can confirm the oil is weeping from the crank sensor as soon as the engine is running,everything else is good.I going to buy a torx socket set they seem cheap enough and then perhaps I can tackle the breather and cam cover problem if there is one.How to check cam cover leakage?access plugs i'll need torx first I guess? Well on the advice of members today i took the plenum off and immediately i found oil&water gunge in 4 breather pipes and in the plenum.Sprayed plenty of engine degreaser into plenum plastic inlets and then flushed through with water pipe.Iwas going to remove the plastic center strip but unlike in the post this unit appears sealed(unless you know better).Then removed and cleaned breather pipes well 3 of them to be exact and also found the small outlet on the breather box was solid so as recommended i used a drill bit to clean it out.Refitted everything and the car now feels livelier and will check tomorrow on oil leak on crank sensor.I don't have a small or low enough torque wrench so didn't over tighten the plenum,if i missed anything please inform.Undrer the plenum oil wise everything seems pretty dry no obvious oil leaks anywhere,how to check rocker cover gaskets?Many thanks

You need to remove that and make sure all 4 tubes are clear especially the small holes underneath where the top hat sits :y

Flushing through with water isn't a great idea... use Carb cleaner, then once clean/clear, a quick blast of WD40 :y

Don't know where, but there's a guide in the How To section for cleaning the breathers. You need to make sure they're all completely clear - it's a job you do 'once but do it right' (though have to do again as preventative maintenance somewhere later down the line of course)
Just be aware that in order to remove the Breather Bridge you need the throttle body off - don't thnk that undoing that single torx you can lever it up and pull out. It will come but at the expense of cracking the breather bridge and causing a slight air leak upon reassembly - air leaks are the enemy of Omega V6 engines! :)
The top hat seal is simply a push on-pull-off rubber grommet/seal/washer underneath the breather bridge. :y

Remove the 90° intake ducts, then undo the four torx bolts on the throttle body and simply pull it forward. Be sure to refit the vac hose underneath it when refitting though...
No need to undo the coolant hoses unless you either like spraying coolant everywhere or need to clean it properly :y

You wont know till its off , but the top hat seal can easily tare if its an old one . O rings can perish , only pence to replace .

Top hat seal 1x 90467543
Small O Rings on breather bridge to Throttle Body 2x 90500983
Can't find the part number for the 6 x larger O rings that sit between plenum and divider. Have a brand new bag of them spare at home, will look when I get home or have a dig around here:

Hi all,trying to remove top hat for cleaning and don't want to brake anything,I've removed 4 torx bolts and two torx screws and everything seems loose but pulling forward there is resistance.The carb seems loose but isn't pulling forward easily??Thanks Glenn

All sorted so at least that's clean now to the rocker cover gaskets!!!!!
