this is what gets me down about some sports is that it tends to be the same name each time, i'm not into sports at all, i watch the "main event" football games, and i like snooker (:-[) but every year seems to be ronnie o-bleedin-sullivan!
i was really happy for selby to lift a trophy!

I don't think that's quite right, Danny.
Most individual sports, eg. snooker and golf, have enormous numbers of exponents at the top levels whose talents can only be separated by the tiniest margins. Golf I know well, and there are literally hundreds if not thousands of pros capable of winning the top events on their day. Granted Tiger Woods and Roger Federer and their predecessors stand out as exceptional, but they don't win everything on offer. Exceptions to this are tennis and squash, perhaps, where the fittest usually prevail most frequently, until time catches up with them.
You've got to admire them, though, if only for their consistency.

I'm not really into tennis, but the game yesterday was anything but boring. The physical and mental stamina to maintain performance at that level for 5 hours is just astonishing in my book.
