Title: 3.2 catalytic converter delete
Post by: C20det on 27 May 2015, 00:54:24
I Would like to remove the pre & main cats from my 3.2 to help it breathe some more tho I fear this will give me some eml light problems is there anyway around it without buying the likes of sports cats so the 02 sensors don't start giving hassle, as I am already getting abit of bother with the sensors at the min I have airway relocated the sensor to after the main cat but still no joy or could I just fit them to the new decat pipes ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

If you wish to make the car illegal, then feel free to remove the cats...

The cats aren't the most restrictive part of the engine, so very much doubt that you'll gain anything beyond an Mot failure ::)

Also without any viable lambda info, the ecu will probably have a hissy fit too.

Mixture control O2 sensor should continue to work but the post cat sensor clearly will through a permanent wobble.

Any ideas on getting the eml light to stop from coming on every 80mile or so keeps saying

02 sensor circuit malfunction (bank 1 sensor 1) Present

02 sensor circuit slow response (intermittent)

Fuel trim malfunction (bank 1) Present

And the usual 0430 but I'm thinking maybe if I relocat bank 2 sensor 2 to after the cat same as I don't for bank 1 should it sort that?

Either fit 3.0L modified down pipes. Or follow the guide in,the relevant section,on how to move the lamdas :y
