Title: Radio Beep
Post by: robson on 27 May 2015, 07:52:03
Some months ago my alternator was playing up and eventually failed. During this problem I was getting a bleeping sound on my radio. I am now getting the occasional bleep again. Any ideas anything to worry about?

Sounds to me like some part of the system may have lost its pairing, perhaps.... :-\

'Pairing' simply refers to the head unit and autochanger / info display being able to 'talk' to one another and are coded synchronously - ie: you'd have to 'de-pair' them/take off the code before removing. This is only on some of them later lar-de-dar facelifts that you hear about with Bose and colour screens and suchlike.  :)

Can't think why it should be doing this - never experienced it myself. You get a sharp 'beep' when you input the code/decode the radio, but this is once every second or two, not occasionally. Sadly this is where my radio knowledge ends!

It is a Blaupunkt system fitted when I purchased the car with a cd player in the boot.
