Title: Searched the house several times
Post by: Vamps on 06 July 2008, 22:15:14
And still can't find my car keys, the have the Citroen and Mig keys on, the caravan and the house. Last seen yesterday when little miss Mike f used them to get a teddy out of the car. She first said she gave them to me and then tha she put them in the window seat with her teddy as she went to the loo, they have not been seen since.
Told her that we sould have to cancel her trip, with friends, to the pictures for her birthday treat, but she still had no idea. I am fortunate that I have spare keys for both cars.
There is only the smallest chance that they were stolen, only one visitor yesterday, a young friend of our lads, but had the keys been taken for the cars then they would have gone last night.

Check bins tomorrow then ::) ::) ::)

It's all I can think of, that they have been picked us with some rubbish, not looking forward to it as everything is recycled so only the real mucky stuff gets into the bins. :(

Depends on how old she is Mike but...also check her toybox, dressing table (if there is one), inside the dolls house, individual toys / dolls clothes; does she have a hot water bottle cover which is a favourite place for hiding things? etc.  ;D ;)

Checked most of that, she has not hidden them, they are just lost, or she has put them down somewhere else, hence the whole house. I plan to search further der her bed tomorrow, it is a high bed with several hundred cuddly toys underneath, wondering if they were stuck to her cuddly, a huge dog, that went to bed with he last night. Clutching at straws really.

Sounds silly but what about the kitchen. My mum lost her keys a few years ago and when working out what she did when she come home we found that she had a bought bottle of milk when she was out and she come in and put it in the fridge and guess what....

Keys in fridge we have also found in the past a TV remote and phone in there to.
Just an idea as kids spend a lot of time in the kitchen. ;)

No, daughter has not hidden them, she has just been involved in the loss, made worse cos she is normally very good with the keys, she often goes out to the car to get something out. :)

She did say that she 'gave the key's to Daddy' but then changed her story ::) Whatever the outcome she is not in any trouble. If they have been stolen, by one visitor, a friend of our 16 year old, then the Cars would have gone by now. it's just the cost and  hassel of getting new keys. Will change the front door lock, as a matter of course, just to be on the safe side, f they do not turn up. :)

I will give it a week, can secure the door with a lock that I did not have a key for, and I did not have a key for the front porch door so not too much of a problem in the meantime. ::)

Hi Mike,
We clean upholstery and once found a large bunch of keys tucked behind the rear, unzippable cushions of a sofa. These had been missing for 2 years, and the customer swore the suite had been taken apart umpteen times in the searches they made.
Things like this can also lodge in the gap between the arms and the base without actually falling through. Be careful when pushing your hand down, though. Staples and the like hurt when forced behind your nails.
Good luck.
PS. Have you checked under the car? Or between the seats and the centre console. (Or the ignition slot?)  :P :P
