Thoughts on this one then , seeing as we have got over the 3.2 omega frenzy :D
Vectra shape growing on me now and some bargains to be had :-\
2.8 VXR (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-06-Vauxhall-vectra-2-8t-Special-Police-VXR-White-Direct-police-only-103k-/231502930947?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35e6a66403)

looks ok that ....although the 2.2 don't do corners at speed....the 2.8 is not going to be better :y
-
Don't like the look of that seller. His listings are all over the place. That's a V70 in the details underneath. Other cars have 0 miles......no care taken.....just don't like it.
-
the seller was he not a member on here a few years back???.....(his name may be simon)

The 3.2 V6 Vectras are shockingly bad to drive. Fun, oh yes, immense fun, but shockingly bad. I can only imagine ex-plod (generally twin turbo? not available retail) is a whole heap more "fun".

Was watching Traffic Cops last night and some farmer managed to "park" his White VXR Insignia in a hedge. Probably looking at his phone judging by the approach angle ::)

I particularly enjoyed the "don't open the boot cos the smack weed guns swag dogs will escape" routine... Ok mate. I'll believe you. On your way with 2 bald tyres in the pissing rain. Unreal.
Anyway, I digress ::) ::)
Can't see as he could have understeered into that position can you? ???
-
They eat tyres, clutch's are the weak point, brakes take an absolute hammering,
There was a constable in Shropshire who was recorded at a very gas speed, few years ago, that was a 3.2,
They will go off the clock.Millbrook bowl. :)
-
And he'd just bought it ::) Didnt see him being breathalysed ???

Alright for a shopping hatch, I suppose. ::)
At least that was before they completely @rsed up the styling of the rear end.. so it's just the front end that's minging. :y

Not sure wether I would buy an ex police car again.....just a car example of a builders van, ragged and abused as most working vehicles are. Get a bucket of water thrown at them occasionally or battered to death with a pressure washer.Agree that they get what the need service item wise but boy do they need it.Generally the trim levels are a bit sparse and the interiors get knocked about as the cars don't belong to the people that drive them.....just depends on which force they come from and that car in particular,a 2006 with that mileage....Hmmm :-\

Expolicecar are in Yorks, and specialise in doubling the purchase price of V70s.
The Ex police car Centre is in Brierley Hill and specialise in charging lots of cash for generally scruffy cars.
Xpc are in Mancchester and specialise in charging Stoopid money for all of Jasonms broken Beemers.
Simon currently trades as Wesellpolicecars and is still in Poole. He specialises in charging Stoopid money for end of life Focuses... :-X
Best ex job cars are bought privately direct from auction :y
-
AIUI ex plod Vectras are usually 240bhp rather than the 280 VXR - same engine Joe Public can get in a Vectra Elite.

Agreed. And most have never seen the road in anger, having been CID/CI/Protection cars.
You're on commision for all four by the sound of it ;D

Know what you mean.....back in '04 I brought an ex DPG 3.2 (still have it ::)) with only 40k on the clock, paintwork was fubared and interior was abused and although it had just come out of service it was a mess, but because I wanted it so bad I was sort of happy to let things go.....big mistake!! Lesson not learned.2010 did it again with a non running ex Met 3.0 and that one has cost me so much grief and money I really wouldn't do it again.....well perhaps only just for Josh's black Road Wars car ::) :-X

This is no vxr, its a 2.8t elite looking at the wheels, that said the interior would suggest an sri trim but it's no vxr and as said above would be the 240bhp, they may have it chipped but that again is a bit of a story told many times. The police will buy a vxr or vrs ect and use them for traffic ect but this is simply a 2.8t any joe can buy and there are better examples out there.
-
i had a retail vxr year or so ago was awsome fast car in a straight line, but as jeremy clakson said on top gear not that great at handling, funnily enough sold my blue 3.2 mv6 for it,sold it 6 months later and bought another 3.2 mv6 identical to the one sold for the vectra!!

Indeed, Surreys pool cars, mostly Fiestas, are pretty raggedy considering the supposedly light use they get...
Beat cars do get absolutely hammered, but generally only by one driver per shift... Best buy is a Marked car with the best bodywork at the auction... It will cost you but not as much as the traders would charge you if you hadn't priced them out of the bidding... My Omega as an example cost me £1,800, when a similar car at the same auction fetched only £900

All 'dangle berries'...
The Octavia Vrss they use are genuine Vrss...
Vauxhall take a base spec shell and fit whatever engine fleet managers request along with the biggest brakes, again if requested... Inthe case of the Vectra C that means base spec plus xenons, Gsi brakes on the 3.2, vxr ones on the 2.8 and Sri ones on the diesels... All fitted with 17" wheels to clear the brakes whilst keeping tyre costs down... Early ones get sri wheels, later ones the Elites shown.
The standard plod V6 special is the full fat version regardless of engine, so 3.2 is Gsi mechanicals, the 2.8 is predominantly the 280 VXR without the trimmings, and the 1.9 is the 150Cdti in Sri tune. The Vec C special also came with the option of either 2.2 petrol or 2.0 petrol turbo, but both are rare beasts. Someof the latest diesels have the full fat 3.0 v6 lump again with Vxr brakes... :y
Plod cars make excellent projects as they are a blank canvas, and when you consider the options available on the Vectra C/Signum, you can build your own car to a unique spec.

Nah there not, the 2.8 is twin scroll, you cant fit a twin turbo as there isn't the room.
