Hi guys, a while since I have been here but a couple of jobs to do.
Rear springs on a facelift MV6 estate?
I have checked out the guide, but wondered if anyone had found a way without dropping the diff. Maybe using coil spring compressors?
Just a thought.........

Stick your noggin under the back of the car and take a squint. I was under mine tother day (which is higher being an elite) and I didn't think the springs looked like they'd compress well. Too many tight turns unlike the fronts. (IE - you'd only be able to squeeze the middle two loops together). And they're ben't sideways rather than vertical. Not fun :(

Dropping the dif(actually the rear of the subframe) is far easier.

:) to say but Mr gixer is correct, lot easier, unbolt drop down put spring in jack back up job jobbed :y,
As a foot note mv6 springs (estate) are nls, I'm looking for a pair still 9193198-lx.

Bigriffin, my local dealer is coming up with 90542361 as the part number. None in UK, but 30+ sets in Germany. List £327 pr + VAT!!!!
Local factor is offering me after market MV6 estate, standard and heavy duty. I think about £40 each.

Those are s/l not lsc.
Only buy in pairs.

Get yourself a trade club card, especially for GM springs.
See FAQ re trade club.

Biggriffin, sorry mate s/l and lsc?? What you mean?
-
Self levelling (Elite only and some plod)
Lowered sports chassis. (Face lift mv6 and 2.2 sport only)
-
In other words, do not fit self levelling springs to a non self levelling car. Way too soft.
-
Dont know if they're of any interest to you but i have a pair of irmscher rear springs for an estate. I bought a set and have fit the fronts to my car, but as the rears are for an estate they are heavier duty and would lift the rear rather than lowering it as I wanted. Managed to find a pair of rears for a saloon so these are now surplus to requirements. If you would like to know more or a pic please PM me and we can discuss.

Mine is a face lift MV6 and not self levelling.
The dealer gave me the part number from the chassis number.
So is he wrong?? :-\ :-\

For yours I would say probably yes going by the nyumbers quoted here from Tc web site, when it actually quoted part numbers.

...which suggests you want ident LX at the bottom, unless you have removable tow bar....? Typically part number not listed in that post.
-
Ps, note the Tc prices for springs are almost half retail.
-
No, no removable tow bar.

To confuddly even more
For lsc with removable towbar 90542361 lr
For self leveling 90542361 lr.
Witch would say that them springs are stiffer than those for lsc with out towbar.
