Anyone have a part number for the staples that hold the gearstick Gaitor in place ::)

Them staples are bloody hard to get through the plastic....

Oooh, yeah, wouldnt even attempt it with staples. Just think laterally, and think if you weren't trying to churn out many tens of thousands of these things a year, what would you use? Frankly a few staples does look a bit of a 'bodge', factory-original though it may be. I'd say glue gun, or even double-sided tape. Some of that stuff is ruddy tough sticky stuff. Also know for a fact there's a TD running around OOF with a gearlever gaiter held on with a cable tie and gaffatape (on the inside, I hasten to add!) and in spite of its 'bodgeworthy' sounding which many would scoff at, it hasn't fallen off in about 7 years of daily use. :)

Well was thinking some leather glue but the cable ties sound like a quicker and better option :y

Why make things difficult?
Contact adhesive is what every trimmer uses for this sort of job. Takes seconds, and requires no skill or equipment.

The factory use heat and pressure... the staples are simply there to hold the gaiter in place for manufacture, not forever, and are probably left in place as they aren't visible and aren't in the way ;)
