Title: Facelift Passenger Airbag Removal
Post by: Tangerine on 09 June 2015, 19:01:59: I am dismantling a 2000 V6 and have got to the Passenger Airbag (The one in the dashboard above the glove compartment). The battery was removed a few days ago. I have removed everything from around the actual airbag. Am I OK to just remove it now and snip the wires or is there anything else I need to do first? Thanks.

I have seen a utube video of one being unplugged and it seemed to take longer than it would to snip the wires, that was the reason I suggested cutting them. Is it safe after the wires are removed, or is it safe anyway seeing as the battery has been disconnected a few days?

Remember the safest place to store it will be under the cushion of your Mrs' favourite lounge seat prewired to a 12v battery with a time switch set for five mins after Coronation street starts.

Remember to film this event as every 'You've been framed' video showed earns £50.

I agree this would be reasonable, as long as the missus gets a drink out of it. :y

Post by: Diamond Black Geezer on 10 June 2015, 13:53:45: Not sure why you'd want to snip the wires, aside from feeling a bit like a bomb disposal guy in a War film... as opposed to just unplugging it. I take it this is for a car you're breaking, and hence damage to the loom isn't an issue?
