I wish you good luck with whatever motor you decide, as has already been said, and I'm sure will again. Owning a Miggy is not an essential for remaining...  :y

I havent had an Omega for over a year, and I still annoy the forum.  Why shouldn't you?  Especially if you buy a Vectra!  Then we can take the piss!  Thinking about it, if you buy a Mondeo (or X Type) we can take the piss even more!

As has been said previously, why go just because you are Migless when you can stay on here and get the pish taken on a daily basis? :y

Or Signums with a Saab engine. ;)

If you buy an X-Type Mondeo may I suggest you pay only buttons.

Those cars are trouble. :y

Yup, I joined before I owned one (had one in the family) then buggered off for a few years, then came back as an owner, now on my second.

I consider myself still a newbie  :D

Nothing wrong with the x-type in my experience, like most ex-fleet and ex-business user cars they can have a back-log of service and repair issues due to the 'servicing' policy dictated by the lease market.....dont touch it for 3 years and then dump it onto the retail market for some other sucker to fix.

Jaguar customer service is excellent as are most independent specialists, the Jaguar dealers on the other hand are worse than most Vx dealers - yes it is possible- If you arrive with a vehicle over 3 years old they treat you like something distasteful  that they just stepped in.

I do admit to being disapointed with my x-type estate though, after several Omega estates, the Jag simply isnt big enough. I want the acceleration, fuel economy and handling of the Jag, coupled to the space and flexibility of the Omega.....a new model Omega in fact.

Agreed. And sadly that's where the Vx rep will offer you an Insignia, suggesting that to be an upgrade/replacement. Nah, sorry, but nah.  :y

Sadly the X-Type a very capable car, like a fashion model wrapped up in grandad's clothes, in many ways. You think it's going to be rubbish and old hat, but perfectly good. Well, better than a Mondeo, which, of course, the X Type is to the Mundano what the 9-3 is was to the Vectra.

Opinion may differ.

Mine was total crap from day one.

I looked ten years younger once the car was gone. ;) ;D

Like I say, grandad's clothes.  :)  And incidentally, think an Omega twice the car an X-Type is.  :y

I would agree with this point, Mr Matchless.

My 3.0 SE auto came back with dozens of oily fingerprints all over the cream leather interior. :-\
