Even top notch ones seem to have the same tolerance... https://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/040217201

Halfords professional

One of those 'you will find cheaper priced alternatives, but you won't get better quality for more money' kind of things. Got one myself, ruddy love it, pleasure to use, clear 'dial' comfortable handle. Made in Britain, you get an individual calibration certificate with each one, lifetime guarantee. :)
-
As an addition... for the smaller wrench I was going to get a cheaper Sealey or whatever, but treat myself to a Halfords one for the bigger 60-300Nm one, my logic being that a cheap quality big torque wrench could easily fail, same way as a cheap n nasty breaker bar could, but even a moderate/low quality wrench only going up to a mere 80Nm would be less likely to break. Luckily I got offered the smaller Halfords for a Birthday present, but in hindsight I'd not go back, I'm very happy with my Halfords one.

Got the 8-60Nm and 60-300Nm ones from Halfords many years ago now, very happy with them :y
-
Yup, I've no defence against them costing well over double what you can pay for a Sealey or whoever, except that when it comes to tools I try my best to buy well and buy once. I know these torque wrenches'll last me a lifetime :)
Nb: Also very passionate about buying Made in Britain things where possible :y
-
I have the Halfords 6-40Nm and the 60-300Nm ones, after getting cheesed off with the cheap Chinese ones (Sealey, Clarke etc), all geared up for US rather than UK.
Halfords ones are approx. half retail price on trade.

Useful to know, thanks
-
Most welcome, help when we can :y
-
I have a Halfords 10-70Nm and a Norbar (do they still exist?) 30- 150Nm.
Both where bought a many years ago and have had plenty of use without any problems.

Other than the rocker cover bolts what else is such a low torque :-\ Ive seen those
older style torque wrenches with the external reading needles :-\

Thermostat bolts, seat bolts, water pump pulley bolts... must be others too :-\

Norbar still going, and making very good tools - rumour has it that Halfords Torque Wrenches are actually a rebranded Norbar. Bizzarely, Norbar offer a good warranty, Halfords offer a lifetime warranty, for the same product. :y
