Adding to my post a few days ago  (Radio/CD)  . .  got that sorted :y

Problem now is the front seats  . . . Seems there is a problem with most of them , where the side bar wears away & sticks through the foam. Bloody uncomfortable is an understatement ::) ::)

So called into local breakers & although several  same generation Sxi's in the yard , they all have the same seat problem .

 Breaker bloke says  . . . ." most of the Corsa lads fix them with  . . . (wait for it ) . . .

 Expanding Foam  . . . . from a can "   " spray it in there & it reforms the shape & sets in about 2 hours " :o :o :o

 Seems a wild idea to me  . . . but   nothing ventured  ;D ;D ;D

No point in paying £70 for another pair of seats that have the same problem  :'( :'(

Any advice on another model corsa  . . . can seats from a "Design " model of the same year be fitted ?, as I see a decent

set  of those over there, being non "bucket " style ,the same problem does not arise  ;)

 Any advice appriciated  TIA

Does anyone think this is a possible option ?

If the seat is buggered anyway then it must be worth a punt. What could possibly go wrong? :D

I think I will remove the passenger one & investigate the possibility of a repair. Marks DTM has let me know it can be done ,but a bit tricky he says :-\ :-\

Fitting the "Design" model seats (if they fit) is my prefered route at the moment m but need to see if they are a straight swap.
-
They should be a straight swap unless either car is fitted with side airbags :-\

Have you asked at Vauxhall re new seat foam? Got one for the Altea when I got rid... about £45 from Seat iirc... so worth an ask ;)

Another cheap fix would be to fit the foam from a low mileage passenger seat :y

Would trust the expanding foam to stand upto much punishment tbh :-\

 Hi Al
went to breakers this morning to have a good look  . . .  nothing on either set of seats saying side airbags. There is one large electrical box thingy with 1 multi connector going to it, under the seats in both cars,  which  both look identical.
 So looks like a straight swap   :y       I will go that way I think . :y :y
