Title: Driving in the states
Post by: Webby the Bear on 30 June 2015, 21:28:54
Last time I drove in the states I'm sure it was just my driver license I needed. Speaking to someone at work and they mentioned this may have changed.

Any idea what's needed?

I think it's OK but I've got an International Permit as well. £5 from the Post Office.  :y

I'm over there most years and have only needed my UK license to hire rent a car. I will be picking up a 26' RV in Vancouver in August, and only expect to need my license, however I will check if it has changed.:y

Yes all you need is a current UK drivers licence  :y :y I have just come back and hired a ford f150 and in January a Chevy Silverado all they want is the licence.

I got one as I'm driving my mate's cars and in terms of his insurance its just covering all the angles.  Apparently US insurance companies are complete bastards and make ours look like pussycats.  ::)
