Title: Ios 8.4
Post by: chrisgixer on 05 July 2015, 00:03:06
...contains updates for Apple music. Plus some bug fixes etc

Given the last update included references to that useless bloody watch of theirs, I'm guessing I don't really want this update either? Right?

If anything, I'd be more tempted with a music sub than a bloody watch.

But it ain't a cheap sub.

3 months free trial for the music radio then a penny shy of £10 a month after that if you decided to say on.

Haven't tried it yet myself apart from the one free channel that plays regardless of subscription. You will need an Internet connection by looks of it which might be inconvenient for some people on the move unless they have a decent 3G/4G data package and signal.

No need to plug in ear phones like phones of the past for the radio just need Internet, Both as bad as each other really  ::) ;D

Have a watch at work, it needs WiFi. It's reliant on the phone, its also first generation (in Applea history first gens are crap)

It's just a notification device really, little less use.

The new Music app is really geared more towards the streaming service than your existing iTunes and music collection. You almost get the impression that iTunes' days are numbered. Other than that, I can't see any difference between this and the previous version.

"If it ain't broke" isn't a viable mentality with permanently internet connected devices. But as there are no critical fixes between 8.3x and 8.4, I'd wait a few days before applying.

Apple broke some key elements with their video player in 8.4, if you do a lot of streaming on your device i'd hold off updating.
