If you don't have it, tell him I will give him £700 cash on delivery and I will drop him off at his new home. He can bring it full of Marmite, baked beans and so on to keep him with the tastes of home.

I'll have it if nobody else does!

You don't need a 3.2 if you already have a mint 2.6  :P

well, in a way 'you saw it first' rules apply etc.. on the other hand if you then want to flog it on at some stage, perhaps you're a bit honour-bound to offer it to him first, and to be fair, at a cheap price. Or just let him have it, save any family-hassle.  :-\

Have already spoken with the seller who is the 2nd owner 1st owner Vauxhall ex MD's car whom he apparently plays golf with, car has always been  maintained by supplying dealership , timing belt kit  fitted at  2008 service & 2013 service 19,000 miles so is good for a while 2 front tyres in January Pirellis  rear tyres are originals ( a good bargaining point ) It is the MD who has advised him to go for a private sale .For around £2250.

Yes but both of mine are not mint, they both need a re-gas, Elite being done Thursday now it has a new HP valve fitted, it now has 91,300 on it and the MV6 has about 88,000 on it. I love driving the MV6 but the elite is better for us with the dogs and all you can get into an estate, have not a clue how much I would get for an MV6 saloon with full body kit and all work done, it even has the CID and NCDC2013 fully working now ;)

To be honest, I have given up on a mint one. Sure there are some about, like this Red one but you have to be extremely lucky to come across one.

Why don't you send me some pictures of your MV6 if you want   ;)

Bought & delivered to my Brother in Croydon, drove down there & never missed a beat all service history & receipts in a ring binder. Even had 2 sets of VX floor mats rubber for winter & carpet for fair weather .Got to say that I prefer my cloth interior in my 2.6 to the leather in his new toy !!  What did I pay well not the £2250 the old boy wanted, not much call for these old barges now.

Well I recon that you paid him more than £625, enough to keep him happy but less than the suggested £2k+ so I am guessing you paid £1k for it............... :y :y

£1350 Also no real difference in MPG between 2.6 and 3.2 but much more power.  :)

The price is of no interest to me, it's just good to hear that there are still some good examples out there.  :y

My  2.6 is manual the 3.2 was auto felt pretty fast & extremely smooth through the gears, engine note very similar, would I make the change  only if mine was totalled

Quote
The 2.6 V6 petrol has a displacement of 2597cc and produces 179 bhp. The manual 2.6 saloon accelerates to 60mph in 8.5 seconds and has a top speed of 142mph, with a combined mpg figure of 26.4

The 3.2 V6 petrol has a displacement of 3175cc and produces 211 bhp. The automatic 3.2 saloon accelerates to 60mph in 8.0 seconds and has a top speed of 149mph, with a combined mpg figure of 23.9

No need for a 3.2 , where can you do over 70-80 mph these days apart from on a track  ;D

The M6 is quite a long track, theres plenty round here that think they can - and do - well over 70-80....

A car went past me t'other day, god knows how fast he was going but the air that was being moved by the car moved my Omega.... more than a lorry does... It was a BMW X series with blue lights on top of it... :)

£1625 was the price paid , he didn't really want to go below £2000 ,but 2 new rear tyres are required & nasty chip in windscreen brought the price down.Have to say though it is easily worth the £2250 he was asking ,apart from those items mentioned can't fault it.My brother has had the tyres fitted today & will get screen sorted asap.
