As above really my 2.6 elite estate failed on the n/s wheel baring but the garage can't get the old one out let alone put the new one in ! So they have suggested that I try and get a second hand bud suspension arm assembly with a decent baring in to save costs of Labour ! :-[

This might not be entirely helpful, but it sounds like you need to change your garage rather than the trailing arm!
Changing the rear wheel bearing shouldn't faze any reasonably well equipped mechanic.

I thought the same but the guy in question is a personal friend and a very good mechanic the problem is he could probably get it off and fit the new one but as he is a friend he thought it might be cheaper to get the whole assembly and fit second hand compared to several hours Labour charged by his boss ! I guess anyway 😟

Give serek a pm, I gave him an arm with a new bearing in to play with,he might still have it,or book it in with him for a new wheel bearing. :y
