Hi all got a strange problem with my 2.2 2001 it has a hissing sound from the engine which is louder when you first start the engine. The last two days the weather's been hot and after driving for about 2 miles the engine stalled then started up straight away it didn't stall again all day. Now the weather's cooler it's not stalling but it's running a little rough any help gratefully recieved

Sounds like a manifold air leak :y Or a pipe off

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like it's coming from the manifold area hissing still there when warm but not so loud

Sure it's not the serpent belt ;D ;D

Just had the belts and tensioners plus water pump all replaced seems to be coming from the top of the engine will book it in the garage see what they come up with

Be an air leak where two of the breather pipes crossover between the Camcover and the throttle body...

Are you losing any coolant? :-\

No coolant loss and the dipstick and oil cap are gunge free
