Title: Smart car

Those smart cars the micro 2 seater ones , are they any
good/reliable .. any problems with them as they can be bought
really cheap now .  cheap for a reason :-\ ?

Was thinking would be ok for a cheap run about for town work  :-\

The engines aren't very durable, and the gearboxes are comically bad.

Buy an Aygo

I was offered one a few years back, black Brabus flavour, plan was to LPG it but theres just no room left over.

For running around I just use my old trusty LPG Tigra, works out about +70mpg, when you crunch the numbers with the price of LPG compared to petrol now.

Why not buy a Corsa?

A known quantity and inexpensive to buy and run. :y

in fast black and had a
Brabus badge on it .. looked kind of neat  ;D
Shame about the durability issues and i guess parts prices are ridiculous   :-\

Not keen on the Corsa .

I've a Smart Roadster. Parts aren't that badly priced even from Mercedes.  I have to agree re the automated manual gearbox ...... it's not the best, but you soon get used to it, especially if you have flappy paddles too. They're like anything else ..... you need to look after them.

Perfectly legal and something that Smart used to use in its marketing  ;)

They used to have parking lights and reflectors on the outside of the rear clusters... Not so sure if they still do
