Hi all.
I've been having problems with my housemate so I need to move out and find a room to rent. I can go anywhere in the UK.
Where do you think would be best to go to?
I'm on a tight budget so I'm looking for the cheapest places in the country really.
Thanks for any advice. :y

Living near the east coast seems reasonable but i was looking at buying bungalows .. mite be
a tad more expensive if renting :-\

Cheapest place inthe country to love (in terms of an area, not just a particular place in Govan or somewhere) is Lincolnshire.
Beautiful county, large flat areas. Look up property prices and you'll be amazed at what you can get for the money. The catch is in theory you may have further to travel for your job as it's a sparsely populated county almost entirely flat, with only one hill, called Lincoln. :y

^^^ +1 ^^^. And Lincoln is still civilised................................'relatively'.. ;)

The only city I've known where street buskers play violins, a rowdy Saturday night involves English Student fistycuffs about whether Shakespeare or Chaucer is the more beautiful writer of prose, and there seems to always be a street market selling not dodgy simcards, novelty doormats and knockoff Simpson's merchandise, but handmade fudge, unsusual chutneys, and English made woolen things, oh, and medieval tandards. You never seem to be too far away from a medieval tankard for some reason :y
That's just Lincoln, you've got a choice of any number of villages and towns which offer lots of different things too. Lincolnshire on the whole is lovely, and they very very cleverly shoved all the rubbish towns in the very top edge along the Humber (the bit where I live :y) thus keeping the rest of the county unstained and lovely :)

Thats not a bad idea really . Save a lot of money on rent and removals ect :y You can pick them up reasonably cheap too .

Thanks for all the advice. :y
I thought about Lincoln so it might be an option. :y
One of the cheapest places I've found is Middlesbrough. Only £35 a week for a room. Great.
I saw a brilliant place in Cornwall - a Catamaran in Penryn. That's only £25 but you have to help 'fix up' the boat. No toilet or bathroom on board though but I'm not used to posh facilities like that anyway. ;D
My housemate has been much better today so I'm hoping we can work it out. She has an aggressive and violent temper and it scares me quite a bit. :o

Chuck a role of bin liners at her and tell her the next time she kicks off, all her shit is going to fill them and she can find the bags on the doorstep :y :y

We are joint tenants.

If she has a volatile temperament and at times at least this scares you-and I'm not doubting your word on this in the least, then I would definitely say move out as it's no way to live.A lot can depend of course on how tenancy agreement is worded-penalty clauses etc.

North east is astonishingly cheap, whether renting or buying. For the love of God, not Middlesbrough though, I spend hlf my working life in that cesspit.
Id be minded to try Northumberland, or County Durham. Shout up if you need advice, MrsGK and I are in Teesside.
-
Recently moved to Co Durham cheap and very friendly :y

Miss Vamps wants us to move to Hertfordshire, the nice part, I would be lucky to be able to buy a garage, let alone a house, I know because I lived down there for 7 years, in the nineties.............. :D :D :D
