On last front pad change about 5k ago decided that for the cost and likely damage to fitting yet another brake wear sensor I would join the wires together to bypass .
Cut wires about 6 inch from sensor plug and stripped/spldered and heat shrunk all together the replugged wired loop back into main loom.Since then have had no issues with any warning lights so all good.
Over the last few days every time I start car get wear sensor warning flash up and needs clearing by pushing radio button. This will sometimes stay off for the rest of the journey ,other times it will come back after 10 minutes or so and require clearing yet again.
Today removed wheel to check all still inplace.Wired loop still inplace and plug is still joined so removed again and gave both sockets a clean.Started car again and within a few minutes warning on again.
Is there a relay/fuse that can be removed to completely dissable this ?

Run the appropriate mid connection to
earth ground :y

Thanks Al...but Electrical Dummy :D
Only 2 wires in the plug and corresponding socket ...what do you mean in simple terms please..mid connection ??

The wire from the display wot tells you the pads need checking ::)

Sorry Al ,but electrics are not my bag. :-\
Just 2 wires going into the plug by suspension strut and 2 wires from senor plug going to the white fitting for the brake pad..how do I tell which is feeding the display then ? :)

If I get a moment I will identify it... Assuming you don't have a Haynes Manual ;)

How good is your soldering? From the symptoms I would say that the wires had just been twisted together :-\

Hi AndyH.
My trade is carpentry so screws/nails to join things ;) :),but did think I had made a harf decent job of soldering. ::)
Will get an old sensor and do the cut,n,shut again and plug that inplace of my last attempt..although in fairness to my limited electrical skills it has held good for sometime ..almost 6 months. :-\
Thanks for pointer though :y
