Title: Back online at home again!
Post by: bob.dent on 24 November 2006, 17:09:30
Finally able to use my home PC again after 2 months :y However, I thought the PC was buggered (still need a new one though as it's ancient) but it turned out to be just a setup & password problem. The main problem was down to bloody NTL taking 2 months to get our land line up and running again following an outside cable fault (thank God for mobiles!!). After having to take several days off work hanging around for their engineers to turn up and and 5 visits, they finally ran a new cable in this week and it's working again, so I'll be able to join you guys for a bit of banter in the evenings and weekends again although this will be limited as I'm still on a modem connection which can be costly if too long online. Will eventually get broadband put in but not until I've got the new PC which supermop is sorting out when finances allow.

The good bit is that I got up last Saturday morning with a hangover from hell and thought it would be a good time to growl at NTL customer service. After being passed around a bit, I finally got put through to a very helpful Scottish lass and ended up with a £50.00 credit on my billing and a 50% reduction on my phone and TV package for the next 6 months :y :y
