What do you use to clean the outside of the plenum to get it looking nice :-\ I cant seem to shift the dirt off it . Tried various cleaning stuff but it still leaves it looking grimy :(
-
James used (I think) carb cleaner on mine after he cleaned my breathers - came up a treat!
Ron.

I looked at Darth Loo-knee Plenum today and it was immaculate, he said he used a green scouring pad and the good old Jiff kitchen and sink cleaner or is it Siff now? Anyway his looked great and he swears it works a treat, I will be having a go at mine soon.
-
Yeah tried carb cleaner but it just seems to smear the dirt .
I will try the Cif as we have some :y

I think now I am going to see if there are shares available for Cif....as I think there will be one hell of a lot of immaculate looking plenums now ;D :y

Did mine yesterday and it is immaculate now, perfect stuff to use and much cheaper than detailing products, even cheaper if you go to pound land, lol.

Talking of Poundland, they do Alloy Wheel cleaner, which is excellent for cleaning Throttle Bodies, Multi Rams, Pentiums, breathers etc.
The foam contains ammonia (by the smell of it) and when used sparingly with a paint brush really does degrees all the crape that builds up inside.
Just don't buy there useless Masking Tape.
-
I normally strip the plenums down and use petrol on the inside and outside. But I'm more into functional clean, than show and shine clean.

Must admit at 1.16 a litre its not bad cleaning gear.
Assuming you a non smoker. ;D
