And zirk's tip of the day in 'you only get what you pay for' is, forget it, its crap. >:(
Leaves tiny bits of glue behind when pulled off, which is the last thing you need over new paint. ::)

Ah....that'll be the masking tape Poundland source from Kazakhstan. :)

I've never found any masking tape that actually does its job properly :(
Such as masking around the headlights , it just wont stick .
-
I normally use the 3M stuff if I can get hold of it.

Got told once by an auto techy chap 'in' the industry, that what we all know as masking tape is actually the stickiest of all the tapes used for masking paint. Also (maybe we've all had it, don't know) but I've found that some cheap tapes often have a 'grain' which means paint bleeds underneath it in little tiny 'wisps' which of course destroys the point of masking in the first place. :)

I tend to buy the blue low-tack stuff from the local trade paint place. No idea what brand, but it just works.

Has anyoine tried that frogtape. Seems expensive to try on a whim but I have no idea how good it is/isnt :-\

I did snigger about the irony of something related to the french actually keeping something out for once ::)

I use the 3M blue masking tape where possible, if not left on in the baking heat for too long there is hardly any residue left behind.

Actually, I do have some experience of frog tape. Mrs. KW masked up the widows in the lounge with it. It was raining when I painted the interior, so I didn't paint the opening sections of the windows as they would have got wet. 2 years or so later the masking tape is still in excellent fettle.
When If I get round to painting the windows I'll let you know how it works. :y
