Why are the papers making such a big deal over, lorries waiting to depart,
Before border controls were lifted across Europe, waiting to clear customs in under 48hrs in some countries was common and still is when travelling to Russia,
Dover and Folkestone use to have some very good TIR parks and such like but they were sold by the councils to developers.
.most drivers who do real distance work,use to carry food for weeks on end, the only problem was still is every were when you stop is toilet facilities..
