Title: Auxillary Drive belt
Post by: artsoul_no1 on 03 August 2015, 11:30:56
Hi all

Drive belt is starting to pop a few strands so want to change it before it shreds.

Is it a Vauxhall Genuine part needed or a pattern belt. Also I've never done one of these how hard is it

Many thanks

Dave

Conti belt or similar will be fine. Take a photo of the belt route to make refitting the new one easier. Put a 15mm ring spanner on the tensioner, release the tension and pop the belt off.
Can't remember offhand if a pipe bracket needs undoing but even then it's still only a five minute job.  :y

I take the two rubber inlet trumpets off the throttle bodies, after an incident  :-[

I'm planning on taking off everything in the way that comes off easily. Things have a habit of turning from a five minute job into a major incident very quickly otherwise.
