Gates powergrip, "best in the world" with skf rollers :y
-
Just fitted a Gates Powerhrip from AGP to Woman's Golf. No complaints from me!

Sir tiggs being controversial, next you be advocating pattern parts ;D
-
That particular one apparently doesn't fit 3.2l.

It's always worth checking Amazon. A while back there was a supplier selling INA belt kits for £60! :y
-
Thanks boys. Will order the gates belt :y
-
Worth noting the aftersales from AGP is excellent - had an issue with the wrong part arriving, due to VW fitting a peculiar engine to the cabriolet models... Had the correct part within 24 hours. (which reminds me, I must return the other one...)
-
I would agree that after sales from AGP is very good, I too have had wrong part sent, and resolved promptly
-
I recently bought a full gates powergrip kit from Jason at AllGerman, along with an auxiliary belt.
Nice price, quick delivery, what more can you ask for?
Cheers Dean

I'll always order my cambelt kits from Germany, because, you can get quality stuff from there much more cheaper. Last time I ordered cambelt for my gf's G-Astra and it was brilliant, Continental kit and they know, how to make those. Not any squeaking or problems with it and the parts were high quality. Gonna go for that for my Omega too. They even had said, that they're gonna make cambelt, that can last for car's entire lifetime. :o

The cambelt probably would last a car's lifetime (probably lifetime = 150,000km). But on the Omega, its the idler bearings and tensioner that gives up first, causing the cambelt to go too loose, causing 24 bent valves ;)

Yea they do. And all of that because, the belt is huge. Don't understand, that why they didn't go for a chain with that engine, with that it would be marvellous engine. It's good in it's current state already. :)
About those rollers, I didn't change them in the last belt change, so I'm kinda in a nervous situation, been driving for over 100 000 km with those rollers and the change limit is 60 000 km. :D But, I'm gonna change the whole set in this autumn. :)

Yes, its the idlers and tensioner (especially) that goes, so you're on borrowed time. Never change just the belt on the V6 :y

Yes, I know, saved some money, but I've been driving very carefully with it, not revving too much, especially in the mornings. :) Maybe I have just been lucky till now. :D

Gosh! Very cheap, ain't it? I tried to search the Autovaux site, got muddled, but they seem to be offering Dayco belts, at a higher price. I always used to buy SKF kits from them, but can't find them now. Amazon offers this belt with a red display saying 'FITS YOUR OMEGA 2.5 SALOON'; I had not told it I had a 2.5 Omega. I'm a bit puzzled that Allgerman offer 3 belts for my car at different prices, all Gates, different engine numbers; I imagine these are variations in the eccentric pulleys. As discussed before, all V6 kits will fit all V6 Omegas.
