Both rear pipes failed today from caliper to flexible pipe as being excessively corroded. :(
What is the recomended source for replacements please.

Make them up yourself. Or clean them up and apply a layer of grease.
Funnily enough, it should only be failed if it reduces the wall thickness by 50%. Which can only be determined for certain if it is cut in half ::)

If you take the old ones off most car spares shops can make you up brake pipes reasonably cheaply.I believe they charge per foot of pipe plus cost of ends.

My local factor will not make up pipes any more because they cannot get insurance. However they will let me use their kit and supply pipe and nuts, just charging for the bits.

Can anyone help with the details for making up these pipes?
What size pipe and what length, which union size and what flare? Plus anything else I need to know?

I just take along the old pipe for length, ends, etc., and make up a similar new one.

or use spray copper grease....aka ''instant brake pipe'' ;D

brake flaring kits are pretty dang cheap. give it a go at home. plenty of YT vids

Making your own is indeed a very reasonable alternative.A roll of brake pipe[personally I'd go with Kunifer]is fairly cheap given how much pipe you get,a decent flaring tool is also a fairly cheap buy as are the ends.Most motor factors will be able to supply all you need,just remember to put the ends onto the pipe-the right way round-before forming at least the last flare,not that I've ever done that myself you understand ::)

As the Omega is our only form of transport, I don't want to remove the old pipe without having the replacement to hand or knowing I have all the correct components to make my own. Hence trying to obtain the correct specification.
Being carless is not an option for SWMBO. :D

Can anyone tell me which please? I would like to practice before removing the originals.
