Title: Hyundai Tucson
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 09 August 2015, 10:17:32
So while I'm looking after my friends place here in Brittany I've got her Hyundai Tucson to get about in.  Initially I thought it would be crap, but it's surprising OK.  It's got a good solid feel to it and for a diesel it's quite nippy!  :y

I've been thinking about a 4x4/SUV post Omega and this has gone on the list as they're reasonably cheap as well.  :y

Funny you mention that , i was sat in the car park behind one

Any pitfalls i wonder apart from maybe spares prices  :-\

They come in 2wd or 4wd whichever is ticked on the order sheet...but not very good off road (in fact utter crap)....cylinder heads do suffer from premature wear for some reason

Yeah I did think it kinda resembles a 7 series or the newer 5 series even, Not a bad thing though I suppose. If it depreciates well it might be worth a punt in the fiture.

That's a good ten grand off the price of a new one ;)

Looks really smart and is rear wheel drive too 8) Available elsewhere with a V8... and given the likely sales numbers possibly worth asking after the proper engine... ::)

Wasn't the V8 exclusive to the good old U.S.A though?

SWMBO has a Tuscon. I hate the thing. 54 plate and she has owned it from 6 months old. 115k on it now and it don't leak or burn any oil' from one oil change to the next. Hers has suffered from the front prop uj wearing very badly so it made a very bad chatter under acceleration. Have removed it as four wheel drive is electronicly engaged via dash switch to rear axle. Over 20 mph it auto dissengages so prop removal don't affect it.' 2.0 diesel and its 285 a year road tax

That's interesting as this one has a nasty rattle from the front somewhere if I let the revs drop and it labours.  ::)  I was thinking it's a heat shield or something but I'll check the UJ's.  Thanks Keith.  :y
