Title: Sunday Channel 4 Film, Life of Pi.
Post by: zirk on 10 August 2015, 02:09:12
Well her indoors wanted to watch it, Film about an Indian Family wanting to migrate to Canada. First half an hour was absolute crap, but then suddenly the Film kicked into life, with some fantastic visuals and story line.

Well worth watching, never heard of the Film before, catch up, download, what ever, totally gets my vote, totally worth watching and I don't normally recommend Films. :y :y :y

It was nominated for a fair few Oscars 2 or 3 years back.  Interesting story(s), but the initial character development takes a while to get going, as said.

I enjoyed it when I first saw it a few months ago, and it certainly stimulated discussion in the TB household :y

Mrs Ld and I watched it in 3D at the pictures when it came out. I agree that the start is very slow (the book is the same) but once going makes for a very good film. I think the book is actually better, as is the case with many film adaptations, but still enjoyed it and can see why it got so many Oscar nominations.

3D, hmm, yea, I can see that working well with the Film, that would probably increase the blood pressure a bit.  :)

A long Film though, 2 hours with glasses on.
