I am going to replace my rear bumper and I need to replace/fix the top fixing screw. Its the one that holds the top screw of the bumper around the wheel arch. Any ideas please as the clip and the screw came away from the car. Can I use a difference sort or do i need to perhaps try and fibreglass the area.

On the estate the clip to which the screw screws is on a bracket which locates tye top edge of the bumper on the rear quarter.... Expect saloon to be similar :-\

Its not on a bracket it looks like on of those flat metal clips that you push over the plastic and the screw tightens on the metal threaded clip. Trouble is when I took the bumper off the whole thing including the plastic from the car all came away together. Was trying to get a idea of how to fix it.

Not sure there's enough there to fix :-\ the plastic on the car IS the bracket... cannot remember if it's riveted or bolted on though :-\

It screws into one of these Things, And the plastic is clamped between this fixing. (its your plastic thats bust i take it)

These things are called spire clips if you need to buy any. They're readily available.

Think the issue Nick is there is nothing left to fix it to. :-\

The end of the plastic locating rail is usually broken off by the time you've got the bumper off. The bumper screw rusts solid to the spring clamp, and then when you attempt to undo it, it breaks the end of the plastic locating rail off, leaving you with nothing to fix it back onto.
I had to search 4 cars in a scrapyard before I found an unbroken one when repairing my car. New parts from Vx are ...
