Title: Rusty brake discs
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 17 August 2015, 11:19:25
My DTI looks like it will need front discs/pads for her mot soon.

I have 2 x Genuine front discs which have been in my garage for 2 years. They look quite rusty. I cleaned one up with some brake cleaner and a cloth, it's come up reasonably well but there appears to be some v minor, what looks like, surface pitting.

Ok to use, with new pads, or just bin?

Seems a shame, every little helps running four cars!!

I've done the same. Had some sitting in garage for few years, I just slapped them on. Italian tune up brake wise and all good. Still on car couple years later.  :y

It will eat pads if you drive normally. Obviously, no impact on our resident slowcoach tunnie :)
