Sorry in advance it's a tyre question but . . :-[ :-[
just had a pair of 235 45 17 Accellera Alphas fitted . local tyre place got them in for me . BUT :o :o :o :o where as previously they had Accellera Alpha on the tyre walls . .these have Accellera PH1 .
Tyre guy says they are Alphas . . . but tread patteren is totally different to the previous ones I have had
Can anybody confirm that they are Alphas or has he fitted PH1's ( if there is such a tyre) & telling me porkies that Alphas & PH1 are the same tyre?
Google Accellera Alpha & Accellera PH1 & up come two different tyres . Not very happy at the moment >:( >:(
-
Sounds like a blatant fast one they are trying to pull.
Ask them for proof they are the same in writing and if not happy approach TSA :y

Might be that the PH1 is the replacement for the now obselete Alpha :-\

I did question it . . . tyre fitting boss showed me his invoice from wholesaler , which said Accellera " Alpha"
Are the "old" tread pattern Alphas now discontinued then ?
I can't seem to confirm from the net that Alphas & PH1's are the same . . . or different for that matter
Goggle alpha you get one tread pattern , goggle PH1 & you get another :-\ :-\ :-\ confusing eh ?

The Runway Enduro 916 was replaced by the performance 926... completely different tyre, both in tread and ability... and the Accelera Alphas have been knocking around a while now :-\

I think you've been given Accelera Phi (with an i not a 1) tyres which are a different to Accelera Alphas. I used to really like the Alphas but in some tyre sizes Accelera only do the Phi. In my research the Phi's didn't seem quite as good as the Alpha's but that's internet research not practical experience.
Sounds like the garage have made a mistake and either don't realise or are trying to wriggle out of it.
I guess you can see how the Phi's are are report back - they might be just fine.

Accelera? ;D ;D

I suspect they are being phased out, so there will be a lot of sizes no longer available.

::) ::) ::) unlikely as I drive like Miss Daisy in the wet . The problem is here that I know the limits of the Alphas , as I have used them on most of my 7 omegas. But know nothing of these PH1's or PHi's if thats what they are (Looks like PH1 on the tyre itself not an i )
I'm sure the tyre guru's on here will be critical of me fitting these, but I have found them to be excellent for MY requirements.
I am trying to find out if Alphas are still available . . .it would seem they are still advertised . . .& if so would want them on instead of these PH1's
Tyre reviews on them seem to be the usual variations of "total crap" up to "brilliant ". . :-\ :-\ :-\

These seem to be avlbl from Camskill still. http://www.camskill.co.uk/m54b869s312p0/Car_Tyres_-_MPV_Tyres_-_People_Carrier_Tyres_-_17_inch_Accelera_Tyres_Car_Accelera_Alpha_-_R17_inch_-_235_45_17_235_45R17
I buy tyres from them and then get them fitted and balanced locally for £10 a corner. :y
