I want some advice if you chaps would be so kind, do you think the car I have is worth more in parts i.e breaking it or as a whole, the 3.2 engine is spot on with only 98k on it so I'd of thought that would be worth a few quid ect, or as it runs very well and has had loads of work done is it better as a sold running car?
This is a thread for advice not a sales advert so please don't get this mixed up.

Because a 3.2 is packed full of goodies, it would be worth more in bits. If the NCDC unit is working fine and you have a GID or even CID, someone here is looking for that and would pay up to £400 :y
Throw in the HIDS, seats, alloys, engine ect, worth more in bits. That's if you have the time to do it :y
On the other side, decent 3.2's are becoming hard to find now, one or two members here are looking for a solid, well kept 3.2 Saloon, they may pay a premium for that :y

I would say its worth selling as is due to rarity --but omegas dont hold money yet--give it 10 years or so and the should--It amazes me that people buy newish cars--I would not buy one myself only buy classics--as I bought a rover P6 for 600 and did a bit on it got MOT too--total was 850 including purchase and sold it for 1600 3 weeks later :y

Indeed, and because of that I would be inclined to say keep it and sort out the niggles :y

Selling post count should be raised somewhat to avoid that... I know I have posted some shit in my time, but 250 one word/one sentence posts is all it takes to achieve the required amount, and this benefits noone, not the forum, not the potential buyers and not even the seller ultimately... :-\

It does seem to have the desired effect though. Look at the known disputes in the Buying/selling guidelines they date back to before the forum overhaul iirc

Being in the market for a runabout for Sept (maybe longer) but thinking about it more from a potential buyers view, what rust is there on the bodywork*? How are the sills and arches? The rest is easily sorted by fixing or replacing parts, serious rust could be the determining factor as to whether it is worth it.
You dont want a 3.2 which runs well and has all the gadgets which operate properly only to know it will soon corrode away :-\
*not suggesting it's a rustbucket, just need to ask the question in order to give an honest response :y

There's an estate been advertised for a while, on the face of it a really nice car, and several members claiming to be looking for such a vehicle, yet it's still available... is that because the negotiable price is too high, or rather because the seller has made no effort to get genuinely involved ::)

No rust on mine but it does have scratches and scuffs that need respraying, otherwise it's a pretty clean motor.

I have decided to put it up for a certain price and if I don't get close to it then I will go ahead and break it for parts. I know I will get more for breaking it but if someone offers me the price or close to it then it will be easier to let it go that way. Just need my post count up now.

It's a lot of messing around breaking a car,stripping,packing and posting and did I mention the messers ::) Better if you can to sell the car, as it's already been said that your particular model is starting to get scarce.And if it's the car that I'm thinking of then it's not a common colour and again that strengthens the case to sell rather than break what appeared to be a sound car.Also like a lot of forum members I constantly scan Ebay and obviously the forum for bits and pieces and like others would expect to pay no more than something is actually worth,which in turn you may well end up storing the less popular items for an extended period....only my own view, but it's your ball and your game :y
