3.0 ,, sounds like the car has a supercharger fitted coming from the top of engine anybody got any ideas  :-\

When does it happen? On cold start? Could be Secondary air injection?

If based on steering lock, could be PAS pump with low fluid

its there all the time and increases with the revs

Water pump, tensioner pulley, sai gubbins... All possibilities.

Split/melted rubber hoses on the secondary air injection (SAI)?
