I'm pretty sure that the Monaro top mounts are listed as suitable for Commodores, Carltons etc. I was thinking about continuing my 'fitting Monaro parts to an Omega' mission by getting hold of polyurethane front top mounts (as listed for Monaro VXR). Has anyone (Gixer?) had a bash at fitting them? I thought I'd ask before I had a go myself.

Monaro top mounts are identical to Omega ones... :y
Was considering fitting poly ones to mine, but didn't for two reasons... 1. with poly wishbone bushes front and rear, I felt that it might make the front end too harsh, especially when lowered. And 2. the standard ones are pretty durable and typically good for 150k.
Chris has fitted some Pedders heavy duty Monaro ones, but you'll need to ask him how he finds them, as I could feel no difference.
Worth noting also that the Omega front end is a bit more rigid than the Monaro thanks to the wishbones.
FWIW, I went with theses...

hi, ive just bought new shocks and new lowered springs for mine, but i want to replace the top mounts while im there so ive been online but the listings show different ones! some are like a big rubber doughnut and the others show a plate with 3 small bolts to mount it, i want to build up the new shocks off the car then just fit them, so which do you think i would need? sorry if its not totally replated to the post..

They take much more of a pounding on the Monaro with its tie bar located lower arm
On the Omega they only really fail if the car is seriously abused or has done a stupid mileage... Although, like most rubber bushes, they do soften over time... ;)
