Title: damn you pesky door lock solenoids.
Post by: Ratboy on 08 September 2015, 00:59:56
A while ago i had a rear driver door lock problem. The solenoid sometimes seizes and i need to turn the inner gear wheel a little before it works again. I allready did the microswitch replacement but it not fixed.
Could it be a faulty winding from the electrommotor itself? When i apply the system it has no movement or vibration from trying to work its just dead. Then when i turn the big gear a half turnn itworks as nothing ever happened. I been testing the thing for weeks ziptied to the door and using a spring as load. It can go flawless for days, then it stops. I dont suspect a broken wire or so. Any ideas?

Faulty switch, possibly brush problems, or a loom problem somewhere

today i have been busy with the solenoid again.
i allready changed the switch, today i took the motor out
and the entire back was blackened, i did have a spare motor with identical dimensions from a peugeot solenoid. sadly the spare isnt as strong as the GM ones and the result was even worse than before.
So i decided to put it in the spare parts bin. i allready found one from a combo backdoor for 5€ and same partnr. :y
